Who we are

JingleBird is an app that turns your photos and videos into reels. It is run by Megabyte Labs. In this policy, “we” means Megabyte Labs. This policy covers the JingleBird app and this website, https://jinglebird.si.

For any privacy question, request or complaint, email support@mbyte.ai.

What we collect and why

We collect only what we need to make your reels, bill you and keep the service working. This table lists each kind of data we collect. What we keep after you delete your account is under Retention and deletion.

What we collect Why we use it How long we keep it
Account details: your name, email address and sign-in ids To sign you in, run your account and email you receipts and notices about your reels and billing Until you delete your account
Age check: that you confirmed you are 18 or older, and when. We ask your date of birth but don’t keep it. To keep JingleBird for adults Until you delete your account
Your permission to process your content: your answer and when you gave it To show that we asked before sending your photos, videos and words to our AI service providers Until you delete your account
Business details (optional): your type of business, business name and city To suggest reel ideas for your business Until you delete your account
Photos and videos you pick. They may show your face and other people’s faces, and videos may include people talking. To make your reels Until you delete them or your account
Words you type for a reel, such as your notes and hook text To make your reels Until you delete your account
What we make for you: reels, thumbnails, captions and hashtags To give you your reels Until you delete them or your account
Working files for each reel, including the boxes that mark where faces are To build the reel Deleted soon after the reel is made
Billing details: your billing name and US billing address, which Stripe passes to us. We never see your card number. To take payment, work out sales tax and keep tax records Invoice and billing records: as long as tax law requires
Plan and credit history: your plan, your payments, and the reels you used and got back To give you the reels you paid for and to handle refunds Until you delete your account. Invoice records as above.
Renewal consent record: that you agreed to a renewing plan, with the time, the exact words and price you agreed to, whether you used iPhone or Android, and your IP address California law requires us to keep it As long as California law requires
Device ids and push tokens To send notifications to your phone when a reel is ready, and to find and fix problems Until you delete your account
Crash logs and app usage, collected through Google’s Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase (how Google uses this data) To find and fix problems and see which parts of the app get used Until you delete your account
IP addresses and server logs, from the app and this website To run the service, keep it secure and stop abuse 30 days
Support messages: emails you send us and our replies To answer you Until you delete your account

Where it comes from

  • From you: what you type, the photos and videos you pick, and the emails you send us.
  • From Apple or Google, if you sign in with them: your name, email address and an id for your account.
  • From Stripe, when you pay: your billing name and address, and whether the payment went through.
  • From your phone: device ids, push tokens, crash logs and app usage.
  • From your phone or browser: your IP address, each time it connects to us.

Your photos and videos

We use your photos and videos only to make your reels, run and secure JingleBird, and meet our legal duties. Your reels are private. There is no feed, and nobody sees a reel until you post it.

  • On your phone. Location and other hidden details are removed from photos on your phone before they upload.
  • Your permission first. Before your first photo pick, the app asks your permission to send your photos, videos and words to our AI service providers, and tells you what is sent and why. You can withdraw it at any time in Settings. Without it, we can’t make new reels.
  • Where they are kept. Your files are stored in the United States, in your account, until you delete them or your account.

Faces

To frame and crop shots, JingleBird finds where faces are in your photos and videos. This only marks where a face is in the picture. It doesn’t recognize or identify anyone, and we don’t make or keep face templates or face prints. The marks are deleted with the reel’s working files soon after the reel is made.

Who we share it with

We share your data only with the companies that help us run JingleBird and, when the law requires it, with NCMEC and the authorities.

  • Our cloud providers host this website and the app’s servers, store your files and account, handle sign-in and push notifications, and collect crash reports and app usage for us.
  • Our AI service providers receive your photos, frames from your videos and the words you type, including your business details, to plan and edit your reel, write its on-screen text, caption and hashtags, pick its music from a licensed library, make its voiceover, turn speech in your clips into text, and suggest reel ideas for your business.
  • Stripe processes card payments. It receives your card details, your billing name and address and your email address when you pay. We never see your card number.
  • Our email provider sends our emails to you. It receives your email address and the message.
  • The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) receives a report if we find child sexual abuse material, as US law requires.
  • Police, courts and regulators receive data only when the law requires us to share it.

Each company that processes data for us is bound to protect it at least as well as this policy does.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your personal data, share it for advertising, or show you targeted ads.
  • We don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites. That’s why the iPhone app never asks for permission to track you.
  • We don’t train AI models on your photos, videos, words or reels.
  • We don’t use your photos, videos or reels in our marketing without your permission.
  • We don’t send marketing emails. We email you only about your account, your reels, your billing and changes to our terms and policies.
  • We don’t ask for or use health information, and we don’t analyze photos or voices to infer anything about health.
  • We don’t use your data to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Do Not Track

Because we don’t track you across other websites or apps, a Do Not Track signal changes nothing here: we treat every visitor the same. No other company collects information about your activity across other websites or apps through our website or app.

This website

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Its fonts come from our own site, so no font service sees your visit.

Our hosting provider delivers the pages. Like any web server, it keeps standard server logs: your IP address, your browser details and the pages you ask for. Server logs are deleted within 30 days.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored in the United States.

How we protect your data

We use reasonable security practices and procedures:

  • Your data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and it is encrypted where it is stored.
  • You sign in with Apple, Google or an email link, so we hold no passwords.
  • Stripe handles your card, so we never see your card number.
  • We keep data only as long as this policy says.

Retention and deletion

Your data is yours. Your photos, videos and reels stay in your account until you delete them or your account. Working files are deleted soon after each reel is made, and server logs within 30 days. Everything else stays until you delete your account. The table under What we collect and why gives the period for each kind of data.

To see, correct or get a copy of your data, see Your privacy rights.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time. In the app, open Settings, then Delete account. Without the app, follow the steps on Delete your account. If you pay for a plan, deleting your account cancels it, so you are not charged again. Deleting does not refund the current month, except as the refund and cancellation policy says.

When you delete your account:

  • we delete your account and its data;
  • copies in our backups are removed as the backups expire;
  • we ask our service providers to delete their copies;
  • we email you when deletion is complete.

What we keep after you delete your account

We keep a little, because the law requires it or so free reels are not given twice:

  • Invoice and billing records: each invoice’s amount, date and number, and your billing name and billing address, which includes your US state. We keep them for as long as tax law requires.
  • The record that you agreed to a renewing plan, for as long as California law requires.
  • Anything we must keep because of a legal hold or a legal claim, for as long as that requires.
  • A one-way scrambled copy (a hash) of your email address and sign-in ids, so free reels are not given to the same person twice. It can’t be turned back into your email address. We keep it as long as we offer free reels.
  • Server logs, which are deleted within 30 days.

Your privacy rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data we hold about you, and show it to you;
  • correct it;
  • delete it, or some of it;
  • give you a copy of it.

You can also withdraw your permission to process your content at any time in Settings (this stops new reels), and you can delete your account yourself (see Retention and deletion).

How to ask

Email support@mbyte.ai from the email address on your account and say what you want. We answer within 45 days.

How we check it’s you

We act on requests sent from the email address on your account. If you write from another address, or you use Sign in with Apple with Hide My Email, tell us how you sign in (Apple, Google or email link), so we can find your account. We then reply to the email address on your account and ask you to confirm before we act.

If we say no

If we can’t do all of what you ask, we tell you why. To appeal, reply to our answer or email support@mbyte.ai. We answer appeals within 45 days.

Children

JingleBird is for adults 18 and over. It isn’t meant for children. If we learn that a user is under 18, or that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we delete the account and the data.

Changes to this policy

If we make an important change, we post the new version here with a new effective date at least 14 days ahead, and we tell you by email or in the app before it applies. Small edits that don’t change what we do, such as fixing a typo, change only the “Last updated” date at the top.

The effective date at the top identifies this version. Earlier versions are free on request: email support@mbyte.ai.
